I love this industry; it’s so creative, and you get to meet these great people all the time. Giving customers a kind of sanctity in their lives is what kept me drawn to this industry. But if you’ve run out of energy, or if things could be better, it’s easy to lose the passion.

I established Planet Skin in Paraparaumu as a “one stop shop” for busy people so that they could get all their beauty services under one roof.  We had a hair salon, tanning, diet clinic, beauty salon, appearance medicine etc.  I knew I wanted to grow the business, and you talk to any business coach – they all say you have to be computerized.  You just don’t have the time to get all the information you need manually.

In Paraparaumu we had a lot of competition, and to keep ahead of the game, I knew I had to work smart.  The main reason I wanted to computerize was not so much controlling costs (although that has been invaluable), but I wanted to be able to market to my database.

The first year I put Beautyware into the salon I increased my turnover by $96,000 – that’s nearly $2,000 a week!  I know I couldn’t have done this manually.   The second year turnover increased a whopping $221,000!  We ended up with a database of over 7,000 names.  So I needed to be able to cost-effectively market to my “active” as well as “in-active” customers.  

Ian and I have lots of tools, experience, passion…We don’t know it all by any means, but if we can help you not fall in the “holes” that we did, and save you from “re-inventing” the wheel…we will certainly try.

Nicole owns a Christchurch based company called Equation where she has worked closely with Canterbury businesses for the last three years setting up and training of various software packages that are results focused.

Scott Davis has a solid background in finance with BNZ and AMP and has a National Certificate in Business Computing which has given him the skills to help clients to get the best results from computer programs.   

Scott also assists his beauty therapist partner (Lisa) with business plans and marketing strategies to get the best results and build a successful business in sunny Nelson where they enjoy quality time with their four beautiful children, family and friends. He is a keen footballer and is involved as a player and committee member of Richmond Athletic AFC and also coach’s student football and handball.   

Scott’s focus is understanding his customer’s needs and helping them to reach their goals.  His involvement with and understanding of the industry, computer skills and background knowledge means he is a great asset in the team.

Paul Adams

Paul has extensive experience with his company (Eftpos and Retail Solutions) as a nationwide supplier of Eftpos Terminals, Cash Registers & Point of Sale Equipment for the last 9 years.  His services include a network of 15 Service Centers nationwide with a range of Extended Warrantee and On-Site Service options. Eftpos and Retail Solutions are members of both Retailers Association and Bartercard.

Paul’s specialist knowledge in Eftpos and POS equipment makes Paul a valuable addition to the team.
