New Operating System
Most hardware suppliers are now bundling a ‘Windows 7’ upgrade certificate with their latest offer. It’s a smart move as we have found Windows 7 to be many of the things Windows Vista was supposed to be… its fresh, easier to use and doesn’t get in the way all the time unlike Vista’s default ‘windows knows best’ limitations.
If you need to update but can hold out for a few months we recommend the wait. Your hardware should be replaced every 3-4 years in our opinion to minimise your business risk of hardware failure. The warranties usually run for three years and we think ‘rolling the dice’ for an extra year is acceptable… after that, we think the probability of failure is too great and the frustration and down-time too risky.
